Leather Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) provides a complete evaluation of the environmental impacts associated with leather production, from raw material sourcing to the finished product. Leather LCA enables companies to measure, manage, and reduce their environmental footprint while promoting sustainable practices within the leather supply chain, highlighting improvement hotspots and providing environmental impact reduction and leather technical performance improvement measures.

The BRICKs model is a modular system enabling the calculation of LCA for leather products through the combination of a sequence of processes. Each phase of leather production is assigned its own LCA BRICK, allowing companies to model processes efficiently and independently update future LCAs by integrating transport impacts and process variations.
